Ricardo Smits Serena is a doctoral candidate affiliated with the Clinic for Orthopaedics and Sport Orthopaedics at Klinikum rechts der Isar. He is involved in a project utilizing UK Biobank accelerometer data to classify musculoskeletal diseases. His primary focus is on developing deep learning models for time series classification. Ricardo completed his master’s in Biomedical Computing with a focus on Deep Learning at the Technical University of Munich, where he wrote his thesis on Generative Adversarial Networks for Ultrasound Imaging reconstruction. Additionally, he has been working for 5 years in a company that develops computer-brain interface software.
